This is not the end!

Figure 1, What Comes Next?

Moving into semester 2 of the artists final year, things will start to pick up the pace. There is a lot of work to be completed and not many weeks left to complete it all in. The artist will have to seriously focus on the work ahead and this is where her newfound knowledge of time management and project management will come into play. She will have to plan out each week what tasks are required and focus on the most important first.

This semester the artist will continue with sculpting all their pieces and once they are complete, they will move on to make some polyurethane snap moulds which will then allow them to complete trial runs on all their prosthetic pieces. She will also complete her biggest flat mould piece to date. This will be a challenging time for the artist and without careful scheduling and time management, she could fall behind and potentially fail.

The artist will also have to conduct many trial runs on her goblin pieces to work out colour matching the prosthetic pieces to the model’s skin tone. This means running several small pieces of silicone and individually colouring them until they find a colour that is a close match to the model’s skin tone. This is a lengthy process and one which they cannot rush as it must be correct to achieve a perfect blend. They will also have to trial run several bald cap applications again to create a colour match when blending the edges in.

This semester will also bring about the creation of the artist half wig which should be completed by February half term. Allowing plenty of time for the artist to colour the lace and check it works well with their final look.

The artist will also begin to communicate more regularly with her team to begin putting all the final details into the planned styled shoots. This is very important as without proper planning anything could go wrong. This is also the time when a permeant date will be set for each designs shoot. Setting the date allows everyone to know the deadline for having everything completed and allows for any issues to be addressed before the styled shoots go ahead.

Semester 2 is going to be filled with lots of breakdowns, crying fits, temper tantrums and a whole lot of mumbling. If you want to keep following to see the final results head over to the artist social media and websites to see regular updates…
